Three Rings, Security Pacific Gallery, 1991

This was an installation composed of three rings, making reference to a three ring circus. The rings were composed of hacked off cast rubber elephant trunks, a ring of cut out paper silhouettes of captive elephants in circus cars going around a circus performance pedestal with a video of an elephants foot endlessly rotating on the pedestal and a ring of cast plaster dropped pants. These forms and images allude to the brutality and acts of violence perpetrated against elephants in the circus.
